Coming back to Spain.

The flight from London let me in Girona (day 7)(near Barcelona). This
was the last stage of my trip, but due to the fact that my brother found
me a job in Madrid I had to take fastly a bus to Madrid to sign the
contract (day 8), make the medical examination (day 9), and start to
work (day 10).

Now, in Madrid I have to work 6 days, 12h/day and 3 days off. With this
plan until the end of August, when I expect go back to my dear Santander
(after 11 months) Oh my god....

22 July 2004

This is the Westminster Abbey, very close to Big Ben (on the left) and to Jewel Tower (on the right). The picture was taken at 21:43, but with high exposure the results can be very surprising.. ;O) In all, I took 240 pictures in London (all the memory of my camera). I continued walking that day visiting more things until near 23h, when my feet started to hurt really much... The next day I visited the Theathre Museum, Govent Garden (again) and another things at the same time that I was planning the BEST way to go to Victoria Station with my luggage (very complicated operation). At 12:30h I was in the youth hostel taking my things ready to make a great effort (more than 30Kg, 4 bags and everything without wheels). Walk, a city-bus, the bus to the airport and wait there for the delayed plane....
Victoria and Albert Museum, much more better than the British Museum. One of the best museums that I saw in my life, almost as big as Louvre, and as fany as a Science museum or a planetarium. I spend 4 hours there, then I went to History Museum and afterwards to Science Museum, almost one day only with museums...
In London I spend from 4-7 July. Walking and taking buses from the morning to the evening. I saw so many things that I saw some of the tipical tourist buildings more than one time. This picture is under the big wheel, on the afternoon of the first day.
On 29th of Jun I took a plane to Glasgow and then 2 trains to Edimbourg. There I spent 5 days visiting all that was possible and more. I did all with the bike of my friend and I did too some bike-routes to the nearest areas of the city. The weather was very bad (raining every 2 hours) but the natural elements never stopped my trip. I had also time to visit the museums in addition to the tipical tourist places. The last day my friend Pablo and me went to a Chinese Restaurant of free buffet (eat all that you can for 5.50pounds), we spent almost 2hours eating there (for that day and the next ones ;o) Everyday I spent more than 7 hours on the bike (I arrived home only to have dinner and sleep). The last day I went to the airport to spend the night there, because there were not early trains to go in the next morning.
Close City Parade party: Near 22:30h I took a bus from St. Pieters station to the port were the party was waiting for me... The place was very very big. There were two stages like this (one in the back of the other) and the music was very very high. The lasers travel around the sky and the people, the people jumping and the Djs mixing discs. The party finished at 4am. Then go back home to rest afte some days of non-stop party... The next days (until the 29th) were dedicated to pack my things, make some papers, sell my bikes, return some things and say goodbye to some people. The last days I felt some strange kind of happines... I was not shy for left Gent, the opposite, I was very happy because I did a lot of things (all that the time permited to me), I did my work (my thesis) and I did a lot of good friends. One of my best friends was the city, Gent. Gent was giving me things all the time and I spend a lot of my time discovering ALL of them and attempting to share them with my friends... I have no plans to come back to Gent someday, because I have the rest of the world to discover, but Gent and his people will always be in my heart. ]:o)~
At 16h the trucks started to move to the place of the close party (in the port on the north of Gent). We saw the parade and then some of us went home to eat something (there was time to recover energy for the party on the night).
The next day 26-Jun was the City Parade. It started at 12h in Dampoort Station. I went with the mexican friends of Lovaina, althought later we joined with some more. There were hundreds of thousands of people (is it correct? ?:o) Very funny....
Party in my garage: On 25-Jun we had a party in my garage. Joining 5 extension leads from my room and with a pair of speakers, cd-player and 6 liters of sangria and other things we had a nice time dancing latin music and some mexican dancings (new for me). After that (4am) we went all together to the party of Summer night in Vooruit. There we met a lot of erasmus people and other indescriptible things... ;o)
After my mother left (22-Jun), I started a new period of trips and parties... On the night of 22 I went to E-Pub where I can find a lot of people that were saying goodbye to everybody. On 23-Jun I went with 2 mexican friends to Lovain. That city was much more beautiful and interesting that I was thinking... the great surprise was that there were more or less 10 girls for each guy... -- I want to live there.... --
