My favourite Firefox add-on

In Add-ons
- Down them all
- Ghostery
- Add blocker  (any)
- Wiktionary and google translate (my top one)

In Settings > Advanced > General , enable "check my spelling as I type".

For this to  work well, I believe you need to install a dictionary. I installed the "British English dictionary" add-on.

About audio books and fancy formats: My experience.

I have audio books on mp3 files. Some of then contained 1 chapter per mp3 file, some others could contain a large number of chapters all in one mp3 file.

I had a problem.
I wanted to listen the different chapters, in orders, without having to keep track of where I stopped last time (chapter/file/minute/second).

Mainly I would listen the books on an android device.

Researching a bit I found about mp4, m4a, m4b, m4p and all those formats that contain lots of information, including the point where you stopped listening.

I tried 2 programs to convert mp3 files into m4b, in particular m4baker and abc (audio book creator).

I was able to create the m4b file, but the experience was a bit disappointing and very time consuming.

Soooo... I thought on resolving the problem in a different way.

Searching on play.google.com I found that some Apps are able to nicely play mp3 files, while keeping track of where you are. This has the added benefit of not having multiple types of files (you can play a .mp3 almost anywhere, quite the opposite for .m4b). Moreover they can use folders as organization structure, which is the reality for many people.

So instead of changing the file file format to add some "intelligence" to it, change the player (more flexible), and make the player do the extra work.

After all, modern video players automatically remember where you stopped the movie, and the movie format has no place for that information either.

I am happy to do some free marketing about the program I use on android:

I really like that it is simple but configurable enough. For example you can configure how many seconds the fast fwd/backward keys go. Perfect for when you didn't get something clearly enough and need to replay the last 10 seconds or so. Also that you can lock some keys to avoid touching them accidentally.
